BMI View: The first gas from the Tamar field in April 2013 marks a milestone for Israel’s energy sector, though the debate on exports versus domestic use is intensifying as new volumes come online. We have factored in a net export capacity from 2017 onwards as we anticipate that the increasing reserves estimates and scope for new discoveries will leave ample excess supply to satisfy both domestic demand and exports in the future.
